Cradle & Hearth

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 August 2026

This policy covers cradleandhearth.com. It describes what we collect, why we collect it, and how to get it removed. We have tried to write it in plain terms rather than in the language of a policy nobody reads.

What we collect

Your email address, if you give it to us

If you sign up to the newsletter, or ask us to send you your style profile, we store the address you typed and a note of which page you signed up from. That is all. We do not buy email lists and we do not sell or rent yours.

Your quiz answers

When you finish the style quiz we record the answers: the styles you picked, the rooms you prioritised, whether you told us about children, pets, entertaining or working from home, your budget band and your timeline.

These are stored without your name or email attached. We use them in aggregate to decide which rooms and styles to build out first. If you never enter an email address, nothing in that record identifies you.

Messages you send us

If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message so we can reply.

Basic analytics

We use privacy-friendly page analytics to see which pages are read. If we have enabled a tag manager on the site, it is disclosed in your cookie settings. We do not run advertising trackers on this site.

What we do not collect

We do not ask for or store payment details, addresses, phone numbers, or dates of birth on this site. The quiz does not require an account.

Why we are allowed to hold it

For the newsletter, the basis is your consent, given when you submitted the form. For replies to your messages, and for the aggregate quiz analysis that lets us run and improve the site, the basis is our legitimate interest in operating it.

How long we keep it

Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Contact messages are kept while we deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards. Anonymous quiz records are kept indefinitely, because with no identifier attached they cannot be traced back to you.

Who else sees it

We use third-party services to run the site: a hosting provider, a database provider, and an email delivery provider. They process data on our behalf and under contract. We do not share your details with anyone else for their own marketing.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Every newsletter carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to processing or to complain to a regulator.

To exercise any of these, use the contact form. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes

If we change what we collect, we will change this page and update the date at the top of it.
