The paper is on every wall and over the ceiling, so the furniture has to be either strong enough to stand in front of it or plain enough to disappear. The vanity is the strong one: a green fluted box, floating, with a white round basin on its top and a brass tap, green because the paper is emerald and this style layers a color on itself instead of contrasting it. The linen cabinet is the plain one: a freestanding shaker cabinet in warm cherry, standing on the patterned tile, holding the towels the room is going to need more of than any other. The mirror is a round in dark timber, hung on the paper, and it is the only object on the walls that is not the paper. Towels in three saturated colors, plants in two places and a crowded vanity top are the point; a maximalist bathroom is never finished, only paused.

A small room welcomes deep saturation and dense pattern. In this bathroom, emerald wallpaper covers every wall and continues across the ceiling, creating an enclosed, jewel-box canopy. The floor carries its own patterned tile, grounding the space in geometric structure. In an interior this concentrated, the furniture establishes its authority through clear silhouettes and intentional finishes. The room gathers around a central trio: a green fluted vanity suspended above the floor, a freestanding cherry linen cabinet standing flat on the tile, and a round dark timber mirror mounted directly against the paper. One piece matches the wallpaper in saturation, one introduces warmth through solid wood, and one provides a clean geometric break on the wall. Together, they create a space that feels intentional, collected, and complete.
Grounding the Room on the Floating Vanity
The vanity serves as the anchor for the entire bathroom layout. Because the wall pattern is deep emerald, the vanity matches it with a dark green fluted base. This repetition of green builds tonal depth across the wall. Fluting along the cabinet face catches the light and casts soft vertical shadows, adding physical relief to the botanical print behind it.
Suspending the cabinet above the tile keeps the floor plane visible, allowing the eye to trace the tile pattern across the entire room. This elevation keeps the room feeling open while maintaining substantial storage inside the drawers. On top of the vanity, a simple white basin provides a bright focal point. The smooth white ceramic reflects the overhead lighting and illuminates the center of the room. A tall brass faucet brings warm metallic shine to the vanity top, coordinating with the warm undertones of the adjacent wood.
Balancing Tone with Warm Wood
A saturated green interior gains stability from warm, organic materials. Two wooden pieces perform this work and organize the room:
- The freestanding double door linen cabinet introduces cherry wood to the corner, bringing red and amber undertones that stand out against the emerald paper. Its clean shaker lines and solid proportions give the room a grounded, architectural weight.
- The round mirror frames the wall above the sink in espresso timber, drawing a neat circular boundary against the field of botanical pattern.
The cherry cabinet provides essential storage capacity. A bathroom with rich pattern and full accessories requires room for fresh linens, extra supplies, and folded washcloths. The shaker doors keep utilitarian goods concealed, allowing the vanity counter and nearby ledges to display small personal items. The dark wood of the mirror frame echoes the espresso tones present in the floor tile, pulling the vertical and horizontal surfaces together. Placing only this single timber circle on the patterned wall gives the eye an uncluttered resting point at eye level.
Layering the Surface Details
This bathroom embraces purposeful abundance, turning daily routines into a sensory experience. The surfaces support active use through generous layering:
Saturated towels in three distinct shades hang from hooks and fold inside the cabinet, bringing ochre, plum, and deep rust into the green envelope. Living foliage stands in two separate locations, introducing natural leaf forms that interact directly with the printed botanicals on the walls and ceiling. Potted ferns and trailing vines soften the wooden edges and thrive in the humid air. On the vanity counter, glass jars, amber bottles, and small ceramic dishes gather around the basin.
Every choice in this room demonstrates that a compact daily space can hold extraordinary visual richness, generous storage, and enduring comfort. By layering deep colors, tactile materials, and abundant personal details, the design builds a cohesive sanctuary that feels thoroughly lived in and warmly gathered.
